HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENN!

I can't believe that my baby sister is 14 and starting high school!! Here are 14 things I love about my Jenn! 1. She will just say and do the most random things that are SO FUNNY. I literally can't get through a conversation with this girl without laughing hysterically at least once. We talk a lot, so needless to say she keeps my life interesting! 2. She has such a great sense of style, something that I on the other hand was not blessed with. She helps me find cute outfits and will never hesitate to give me some constructive fashion criticism. If I had a dime for every time she's given me her judgment face followed by the classic "WHAT are you WEARING?!" I would have a lot of dimes... 3. She is a wonderful singer! I really don't think she realizes how good she is! I love that she's a little budding soprano, because the soprano section's totally where it's at! I'm not the least bit biased! 4. When Jenn is passionate about something she

18TH BIRTHDAY!

Oh my goodness. I'm an adult. That's just so weird. Honestly though, I'm pretty much still a kid at heart. So anyways, I had such a fun birthday! The festivities aren't even over yet! My birthday's lasting a solid week and it's beautiful. I'm all for it. Anyways, the day started out with me waking up to someone banging on my bedroom window. I LEAPED out of bed. I was absolutely TERRIFIED. The incessant banging on my window was shortly thereafter followed by incessant banging on my front door. I opened it to find my cute cousins Michael and Jacob standing on my doorstep. Jake sang "Happy Birthday" to me, then the boys left. My dad had left Abby and I my favorite breakfast: bubble bread! So good! Then after I picked Abby up from swim practice, we took a spontaneous trip to get a delicious smoothie from Robeks. Then, my best friends Hannah and Micala came over. We played Guitar Hero, and then went to our favorite restaurant, Charlie Changs, to get som

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

Today is my Dad's (insert age here) birthday! I'm sure he doesn't want me to post it on the Internet, adults are always sensitive about that. So this blog post is dedicated to my dad and all of the reasons why I love him: 1. He's one of the hardest workers I know. He understands the value of hard work, and that's something that he's not me over the years. He has been successful and achieved so much as a result. 2. We watch all of the same T.V. shows. Well most of them. We have a similar sense of humor and find the same things completely hilarious. 3. He's so supportive! He never misses any of me or my sisters games, concerts, plays, and so on. 4. He's raised our family in the Church. He converted to the Mormon Church when he was 21, something that definitely did not come without difficulty. He sacrificed a lot to join the Church, which has helped me realize how important the Gospel is and that I should never take it for granted. 5. He's alw

When On Earth Did I Get So OLD?!

It seems that whenever I'm avoiding doing something, I blog. Today it's unpacking from my amazing vacation to the beach. So anyways, this Thursday is my 18TH Birthday! How did this happen? When did I grow up? I can't believe that I'm going to be an adult! It's just too weird! Hanging up in my room, I have a picture collage that my mom made me for my sixteenth birthday. It has pictures of all of my birthdays leading up to that point. Now readers, I will take you on a virtual tour of birthdays past! Ready or not, here we go! I really wish I had some pictures on my computer, but alas, I do not. Maybe some day. AGE 1: Well, for my first birthday, there's a picture of little me popping out of a box that says I'M 1! In the hair department, I was a bit of a late bloomer. There is ne'ere e'en a hair. Well, it happened eventually. AGE 2: Ah yes, the year of the curly afro. You read right. Ringlets sticking up all over the place. It was a mane that could n

LOVIN' The Beach!

Absolutely nothing in this world beats a week at the beach! I absolutely love it hear at Nags Head! My grandparents rented a HUGE beach house, and our whole family is here, 21 people total! Literally if I could live in my dream house, it would be this one. It's right on the beach, has a pool AND hot tub, there's a movie theater in the basement, and the interior of the house is just plain beautiful. Oh there's also the fact that every bedroom has a T.V. and DVD player. In addition to that, the house has an ELEVATOR. I've hardly used the stairs all week. So yes, we're livin' the good life. We've spent most of our time here down at the beach. There's nothing I love more than swimming in the ocean! It's just so much fun to be in the water with my family! My cousins and I also really like to go boogie boarding. We've had some hard core wipe outs as well as some cuts and scratches, but it's worth it. We always compete with each other to see who can

TREK

I just got home from Trek this afternoon and it was a WONDERFUL experience! I had the best family ever and it was so fun to have the Poultons as my Ma and Pa! On Thursday, we pretty much walked the entire day. I noticed the Lord's tender mercies from the very start. By lunch time on the first day, I had blisters on both of my ankles. I found that I was able to ignore them while we were walking along the trail and enjoy the experience. I knew that the Lord was blessing me with a good attitude, and I was so grateful! It was also pretty hilarious to listen to my mom and YW leaders fussing about my feet. It was cute. I love them. I was also amazed by the fact that every single member of my trek family did more than their fair share of work pushing the handcart. Some people needed a little encouragement, but everyone helped. Everyone's positive attitudes were truly contagious. We sang, talked, counted to 100 at one point, and whenever a part of the trail got difficult, we encouraged
